Spring Term Week 9

This Week

The children completed their pictures and frames and had lovely time printing, using a variety of shapes and objects. We used green and yellow and chatted with the children about Spring colours and daffodils. In the messy tray we did, pouring, spooning, mixing using coloured rice and pasta. The children could also use tweezers/pincers and funnels. All fantastic activities to further develop the children’s fine and gross motor skills. A lovely child led activity which all children thoroughly enjoyed.

Best wishes,

The Art Barn Team

New Art Barn Teacher

We are very pleased to introduce our new Art Barn teacher, Miss Sophie. She has a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art, she has worked as a TA in a Primary School for 2 years where she was involved throughout the school from Nursery to Year 6. Sophie has also been an after School Club leader and organiser of other Arts & Crafts clubs so she comes with lots of experience and enthusiasm, we are very excited to welcome her to our team.

This Week at Art Barn was all about Pancake day and we had lots of fun making pretend pancakes both as the main project and in the messy tray.

We look forward to seeing you all next week.

Many thanks,

Sofia

Spring Term Week 6

This week we have focussed on Chinese New Year Celebrations. The children made very colourful prints that we turned into dragon faces. We had planned to make drums but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to change the topic. The children also had fun playing with the coloured rice in the messy tray.

Next week we will be doing colour mixing and using sponges and brushes to make our own Claude Monet masterpiece.

We look forward to seeing you all next week.

All the best,
